The small metal parts shown in your photo are pop rivets, not nails. They should not be hammered into the case. A 5 mm drill bit and a rivet gun are required to install the lid.
First, place the lid on the case and align the front lock positions. Make sure the lid and the case body form a straight line. Hold the hinges in position, drill through the existing hinge holes, insert the rivets, and secure them using the rivet gun.
