Cold Spark Fountain Base Kit vs. Full Kit: What’s Included and Which Should You Buy?
Event equipment guide · Choosing your package
A base kit supplies reusable control hardware; the Full Kit offers compared here add a case and ten inserts to the advertised package. Choose a base kit when you already have confirmed compatible consumables or want to source them separately. Consider a Full Kit when its included consumables match your event brief. Both still require separately purchased base batteries.
You have chosen an insert-based fountain system and decided how many bases you need. Now comes the practical buying question: what will arrive, and what must you add before the event?
Compare the selected package line by line. “Full Kit” describes a bundle; it does not establish that the package covers every cue, includes batteries, or is approved for your venue. This guide uses Any Case Gear’s linked 4-base and 8-base offers.
What is included in a base kit vs. a Full Kit?
The current Full Kit options advertise 4 bases + case + 10 inserts or 8 bases + case + 10 inserts. The basic base listings exclude inserts. Base count and consumable count are separate specifications.

| Compatible inserts | Excluded from the basic listings; purchase separately. | 10 advertised in each linked Full Kit option. |

| Extra event consumables | Allocate for the full cue list. | Add any quantity beyond the included allocation. |
Before ordering: confirm the final itemized contents for the selected offer, including the exact insert model and remote set. The Full Kit option labels list the case and ten inserts, while the shorter packing tables list bases and a controller. Use an order-specific confirmation if any detail is unclear.
Does a Full Kit change the equipment type?
No. These are insert-based fountain control systems. A bundled insert does not turn a base into a powder-fed machine, add DMX, or establish additional control channels. For that earlier decision, see our base-system vs. powder-fed machine comparison.

Are ten included inserts enough for your event?
It depends on the total base activations in your cue list. Assuming one compatible single-use insert per activation, ten inserts cover ten activations—not ten complete four-base or eight-base moments.
These are show-only examples. Rehearsal and reserve requirements are additional and should be agreed separately. Two remaining inserts are not a complete four-base rehearsal allocation. Six additional inserts for the eight-base example cover only the stated show requirement, not a rehearsal or reserve.
If the same bases will be used again, confirm the operator’s appropriate consumable replacement workflow and available changeover time. Do not assume a single-use insert can be paused and restarted.

For example, an entrance and a first dance are two separate moments even when they use the same equipment. Decide which positions activate at each moment before choosing the consumable quantity. If you still need to choose the hardware count, read 4 vs. 8 cold spark fountain bases.
Which package should you buy?
A base kit may fit when…
You already have an adequate supply of inserts confirmed compatible with the exact bases, or you want to source a different approved insert specification separately.
Check the inserts’ condition and storage requirements as well as their model. Existing inventory only helps if it is suitable for the intended equipment and event.
A Full Kit may fit when…
You are buying the system and consumables together, and the included insert model and quantity suit your plan.
It can simplify the shopping list, but you still need batteries and any additional consumables your cue list requires.
For a first-time buyer
Start by checking the included insert’s documented effect characteristics against your brief. A convenient bundle is useful only if those consumables are the right ones. Ask for the model, instructions, and an itemized contents confirmation before relying on the package name.
For an event or rental business
Compare the bundle with the inventory you already hold. If you have suitable inserts and transport provisions, a base kit may avoid buying items you do not currently need. If you regularly replenish the included inserts, assess the bundle against buying those same items separately.
Neither choice automatically provides expansion compatibility with existing bases or remotes. Verify the control configuration independently from the package decision.
How do you compare the total cost fairly?
Keep the base count, required consumable specification, and event cue list the same on both sides. Comparing a four-base basic offer with an eight-base Full Kit mixes two purchasing decisions and makes the price difference hard to interpret.
Base-kit route: selected kit price + all required compatible inserts + missing batteries/accessories + applicable shipping and tax.
Full-Kit route: selected bundle price + any additional compatible inserts + missing batteries/accessories + applicable shipping and tax.
Use current checkout totals and count only items you need. Do not assume that an advertised bundle saves a fixed amount or that the included consumables cover your entire event. Operator preparation and other event costs should also be included in your overall budget.
Your final purchase checklist
- Package identity: exact listing, selected offer, and base count.
- Included contents: case, remote set, insert model and quantity, and any exclusions.
- Power: four or eight 9V base batteries as appropriate, plus the confirmed remote battery requirement.
- Consumable allocation: show cues, rehearsal, and reserve quantities accounted for separately.
- Event suitability: documentation reviewed by the venue and responsible operator, with the intended control and changeover requirements confirmed.
Common questions about fountain base kits and Full Kits
Does “Full Kit” mean batteries are included?
Not for the linked offers. They specify one 9V battery per base, sold separately. Confirm remote battery requirements separately; do not transfer the base battery specification to the remote.
Does the eight-base Full Kit include twenty inserts?
The linked option currently advertises ten inserts, just like the four-base Full Kit. Check the selected offer when ordering because package configurations can change.
Can I use powder instead of the included inserts?
No substitution should be assumed. These bases require compatible inserts; powder-fed machine refill material is a different consumable format. Obtain a compatibility recommendation for the exact equipment.
Is a case the only difference between the two packages?
No. The linked basic listings exclude inserts, while the selected Full Kit offers advertise ten. Some hardware packages may also include transport accessories, so compare itemized contents rather than treating the case as the defining difference.
Is the Full Kit ready for every venue?
The bundle name does not establish venue approval or operating clearances. Review the documentation for the actual bases and inserts with the venue and responsible operator.
Choose the package that matches your event list
If you need both bases and inserts, review the selected Full Kit contents. If you already have suitable consumables, compare the basic hardware offers.
Buying hardware separately? Compare the 4-base system and 8-base system. For an itemized recommendation, send Any Case Gear your base count and insert requirements.
